Nearly six months after their powerful debut with ‘FEARLESS,’ Kpop 4th generation rookie LE SSERAFIM now makes a comeback with a more self-assured album, ‘ANTIFRAGILE.’
The album seems to be an honest reflection of the members. The girls have been enduring pressure debuting in one of the biggest agencies in South Korea. Besides, they had to face controversies since their debut and say goodbye to one of the members, Kim Garam. ‘ANTIFRAGILE’ shows how Sakura, Kim Chae-won, Huh Yun-jin, Kazuha, and Hong Eun-chae self-reflected and came back much stronger.
LE SSERAFIM Breaks Records with ‘ANTIFRAGILE’
Hanteo reported that LE SSERAFIM sold 408,833 copies of their second mini album, ‘ANTIFRAGILE,’ on the first day of release. The group breaks their own album sales record, which previously sold 176,000 copies on the first day of the release of their debut mini album, ‘FEARLESS.’
LE SSERAFIM becomes the fourth Kpop female group to have an album surpassing 400,000 copies sold on the first release day, following BLACKPINK, aespa, and IVE. Additionally, ‘ANTIFRAGILE’ is now the fifth best-selling album on the first day of release by the Kpop girl group in Hanteo.
LE SSERAFIM Won’t Back Down because They Are ANTIFRAGILE
“Antifragile is about being confident and proud despite obstacles that come our way.”LE SSERAFIM Chaewon in an interview with Rolling Stone.
LE SSERAFIM makes a refreshing and powerful comeback with the catchy dance-pop title track with the same name as the album ‘Antifragile.’ The ‘Anti-ti-ti’ part is indeed earworming and will stay in our minds once we listen to this track.
‘ANTIFRAGILE’ lyrics seem to tell the stories of LE SSERAFIM members. For example, they mention ‘pointe shoes’ to Kazuha, who is trained as a ballerina. Meanwhile, ‘the path I’ve walked’ refers to the extended way members should experience, especially Sakura and Chaewon, who previously debuted as a part of other groups.
LE SSERAFIM Being Sexy yet Honest in The B-side Tracks
LE SSERAFIM starts the ‘ANTIFRAGILE’ album with an ear-grabbing track, ‘The Hydra.’ The pop-EDM track not only shows off their sexy vocals but also uses different languages – English, Japanese, and Korean. The track reminds us of their ‘The World is My Oyster.’
LE SSERAFIM is being really honest in their comeback this time. In ‘Impurities,’ the girls showcase their sweet yet tempting vocals.
Be greedy, more like a witch
Show you the real me, a blushing light
It’s shining brightly, glittery things
Impurities, show you my impurities
I personally like the pop-punk track ‘No Celestial’ among other b-side tracks in LE SSERAFIM ‘ANTIFRAGILE’ album. The track sounds exceptionally energetic and confident.
Just wanna live a real life
Listen to my honest voice
Ain’t no fear, at this moment, I’m now
Falling down to earth
However, if you’d prefer a softer track, ‘Good Parts (When the Quality Is Bad but I Am)’ is the perfect one for you. In collaboration with American singer-songwriter Salem Ilese, ‘Good Parts (When the Quality Is Bad but I Am)’ talks about loving yourself and always finding the good parts of yourself despite your weaknesses. LE SSERAFIM states the message from the beginning of the lyrics:
I just wanna love myself
When I’m good or bad, love my weakness
Contrary to fancy expectations
Even if it doesn’t look decent, find the good parts, the good parts
