Choi Hyun Wook Joins Choi Min Sik in New K-Drama “The Boy in the Last Row”

According to an exclusive report by My Daily on March 4, actor Choi Hyun Wook has confirmed his participation to star in the new K-drama project, “The Boy in the Last Row.” An official revealed that the production has cast him to play the protagonist, noting his stable acting skills, which fit the character.
About “The Boy in the Last Row” and Roles
“The Boy in the Last Row” is a live adaptation of the 2006 Spanish play, ” El Chico de la última fila,” in Spanish by Juan Mayorga.
The story follows Professor Moon Oh, who once failed as a novelist due to a colleague’s harsh criticism of his work. Now, he is a professor of Korean literature at a prestigious university.
Among his students who struggle with sentence structure, Moon Oh finds one talented student who amazes him with his writing. He is Lee Gang, a student who always sits in the back row.
Impressed with Lee Gang’s writings, Moon Oh is eager to guide him further in his writing. However, as Moon Oh becomes increasingly fascinated by Lee Gang, he gets involved in an unexpected incident.
As previously reported, veteran actor Choi Min Sik has received an offer to play the role of Moon Oh. In addition, Choi Hyun Wook has received an offer to portray the character of the brilliant student Lee Gang.

“The Boy in the Last Row” will be the latest project from renowned director Kim Kyu Tae. His popular works include “The Trunk,” “Our Blues,” and “Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo.” Meanwhile, writer Jang Myung Woo, known from “My Mother, the Mermaid,” will pen the drama’s script.
Moreover, according to the report, the filming will start this year with Kakao Entertainment and G-Tist teaming up to co-produce the series. Currently, there is no further information about the broadcast channel, OTT, and release date.
