NewJeans Hanni Reveals Shocking Testimony Against HYBE Bullying at National Assembly Trial
With the rising dispute between HYBE and former ADOR CEO Min Heejin, NewJeans Hanni decided to speak up against all HYBE’s bullying in a shocking testimony at the National Assembly Trial. When the new ADOR CEO, Kim Ju Young, kept on denying her testimony, Hanni broke down in tears, feeling frustrated.
On October 15, The National Assembly’s Environment and Labor Committee recently held a parliamentary audit, focusing on the Economic, Social, and Labor Council under the Presidential Office and organizations linked to the Ministry of Employment and Labor.
During the session, Hanni was called in as a reference, while Kim Ju Young, the new CEO of ADOR and CHRO of HYBE, appeared as a witness. The audit centered around idol bullying and workplace harassment, making Hanni the first Kpop idol to ever participate in a parliamentary audit.
In the national assembly, NewJeans Hanni elaborated on the bullying testimony she previously revealed in a YouTube broadcast.
“At the HYBE building, there’s a floor where we get our hair and makeup done. Back then, we were getting ready for a performance at Busan University’s festival. I finished up early, so I was just waiting in the hallway.
While I was waiting, three members from another team walked by, along with a female manager. I greeted them politely, but about 5-10 minutes later, they came back. That’s when the manager made eye contact with me and told the members behind her, ‘just ignore her.’
I couldn’t understand why that happened to me. But this wasn’t a one-time thing. If I didn’t speak up, it would’ve been brushed aside. And honestly, anyone could go through something like this. I wanted to come forward so no one else would have to experience it.”

Bang Si Hyuk is Rude, and HYBE Doesn’t Like NewJeans: More Shocking Testimony
Furthermore, NewJeans Hanni also revealed in her testimony at the National Assembly trial that HYBE Chairman Bang Si Hyuk has always been rude towards her and the group.
“It wasn’t just that one time.
Ever since my debut, I’ve come across a lot of high-ranking people, but they rarely ever responded to my greetings.
In Korea, showing respect to elders is a big part of our culture, and I get that. But ignoring someone’s greeting isn’t just unprofessional—it’s plain disrespectful on a human level.
Also, the company had a certain vibe that’s hard to put into words. Only those who experienced it firsthand would really understand.”

Not only that, but Hanni also addressed the online bullying that HYBE employees did to NewJeans via the Blind App. She believed that the entire HYBE company basically hated NewJeans.
“I also saw HYBE employees badmouthing the group on the Blind app. Even the PR team director was trying to lower our Japanese debut score.
That’s when it hit me—this wasn’t just a gut feeling. I became convinced the company really hated us.”

NewJeans Hanni Reveals the Gaslighting Treatment from New ADOR CEO at National Assembly Trial
And yet, when she reported the bullying incident, all she got was gaslighting from the new ADOR CEO Kim Ju Young. According to her testimony at the National Assembly trial, Hanni revealed that the CEO only dismissed this bullying issue against NewJeans.
“When I first told CEO Kim about the situation, she said there was no evidence. She mentioned there was CCTV footage, but it only showed me greeting people.
I found that hard to believe, so I asked to review the footage myself. Just as I thought, it only captured the greeting and nothing after that.
At the time, I felt uneasy because CEO Kim changed her story. Since I’m a foreigner and don’t fully understand Korean, I recorded our conversation to make sure I didn’t miss anything important.
I have proof that she lied. I even asked one of the directors if we could meet with the manager involved to clear things up, but all they had was an 8-second clip of me greeting—nothing more.
If this is just a misunderstanding, I really want to resolve it.”

New ADOR CEO Kim Ju Young Denied with More Gaslighting Statements at the National Assembly Trial
On the other hand, HYBE-appointed ADOR CEO Kim Ju Young denied all the accusations from NewJeans Hanni. She believed she had done everything she could to address the bullying issue, including checking if the CCTV video could be restored.
Not only that, but the CEO even pledged guilt and regret. She wished she could have done something, which only proved the gaslighting treatment.
“I feel like I did everything I could, but knowing that Hanni felt this way and things escalated this far makes me wonder if there was more I could’ve done.”

Hence, NewJeans Hanni started feeling frustrated. She broke in tears while thanking her fans.
“I’m sorry, but I don’t believe CEO Kim did her best.
There were definitely more things she could’ve done. She promised to protect us, but it feels like she has no intention to fight for us or take action.
I just can’t agree that she gave it her all. I really hope this gets resolved soon.
A lot of people have been worried about us.
Some fans even apologized, thinking they made us go through this, but I’m just grateful to Korea for giving me the chance to do what I love.

Finally, NewJeans Hanni delivered her closing testimony, focusing on workplace bullying at the National Assembly trial.
“Today’s session is about workplace bullying and harassment.
From my experience, I’ve come to realize that while laws can’t solve every problem, if we just respect each other as human beings, workplace bullying and harassment wouldn’t exist.
And lastly, if I ever appear here again, I promise to study Korean diligently and come back.”
