On February 7 KST, the new Instagram account of NewJeans members @jeanzforfree suddenly changed its name into @njz_official. Unexpectedly, this new name announcement occurred only a while after the official announcement of their upcoming hearing for a provisional injunction filed by ADOR on March 7.
According to CNN, NewJeans members intentionally announced the new name after the announcement of the hearing date. It was a way to turn “this rough time into something more exciting.”

And with this new redebut in concept and image, NewJeans members will be performing as NJZ for the first time at ComplexCon, scheduled from March 21 to 23 in Hong Kong. At this stage, NewJeans members will also perform a brand-new song under the new name NJZ.

Firstly, NewJeans members decided to redebut as NJZ on February 7. And they did it intentionally to reverse the date of their original debut, July 22. According to the members, they paid attention to this date because Bunnies love it.
Along with the debut date details NJZ also revealed that they would retain the original fandom name, Bunnies.
And most importantly, NewJeans members also stated that they would make a complete concept change as NJZ. The recently released photos are only a prologue of their upcoming redebut song. It will be in an entirely new concept that’s way more fun and exciting.
