On May 11, the Korean Business Research Institute released the list of the most popular Kpop boy groups for May 2024. As a result, SEVENTEEN remained in the first spot for five consecutive months in this month’s Kpop boy group brand rankings, followed by TWS, NCT, EXO, and BTS. May 2024 Top Kpop Boy Group Brand Reputation Rankings
The Korea Business Research Institute analyzed consumer behavior from 51,491,036 Kpop boy group brand big data collected from April 11 to May 11, 2024. Using the big data, they measured boy groups’ participation, media, communication, and community indexes. Compared with 44,510,411 big data brands in April, this number increased by 15.68%.
According to the analysis results, SEVENTEEN, TWS, NCT, EXO, and BTS became the top five most popular Kpop male groups in May 2024. See below the top 30 Kpop boy groups in March, April, and May.

1. SEVENTEEN
SEVENTEEN, who recently released two music videos for “Maestro” and “Lalali,” topped the ranking for the 5th consecutive month. The group achieved a brand value of 5,046,444 this month. Compared to the brand reputation index of 4,139,221 last April, the number rose 21.92%, with the following indices:
- Participation Index: 418,535
- Media Index: 1,498,687
- Communication Index: 1,145,609
- Community Index: 1,983,613
Further, in a more comprehensive link analysis of the group, the institute found “record,” “surpass,” and “prove” to be the most popular terms related to the group. Meanwhile, in keyword analysis, they found “CARAT,” “Billboard,” and “Oricon” to be the most popular keywords of the group. Additionally, the group earned a positive score of 92.58 percent in the positivity-negativity analysis.
2. TWS
Pledis’s rookie group TWS, who reportedly will make a comeback in June, rose to the second position. The group achieved a brand value of 4,178,053 this month. Compared to the brand reputation index of 2,369,830 last April, the number increased by 76.30%, with the following indices:

- Media Index: 1,065,778
- Communication Index: 1,250,737
- Community Index: 1,642,338
3. NCT
Kpop boy group NCT, consisting of 26 members and six sub-units, dropped to third place this month. Following Doyoung’s solo debut last April, NCT member Mark, who recently released the MV for “200,” will make a mini album in February 2025. In addition, NCT DREAM will hold the 2024 NCT DREAM world tour to Asia, Latin America, the U.S., and Europe this year.
The group’s brand value decreased by 30.77% this month. Total brand value fell from 4,034,320 in April to 2,792,964 in May, with the following index:

- Media Index: 780,540
- Communication Index: 749,511
- Community Index: 1,184,618
4. EXO
Kpop group EXO secured the fourth position this month. Some of the group’s members have recently been involved in various activities. For instance, EXO’s D.O. recently released an album and will hold the Asia Fan-Con Tour starting in June. Seho led a historical drama for the first time with “Missing Crown Prince,” and Baekhyun celebrated his birthday. Meanwhile, Chen will reportedly release a mini album at the end of the month.
Moreover, according to the analysis, the group’s brand value rose 65.08% this month. Their brand value increased from 1,580,768 in April to 2,609,545 in May, with the following indices:

- Media Index: 690,928
- Communication Index: 749,729
- Community Index: 1,121,850
5. BTS
BTS, whose members still provide their work to their fans to fill the void during mandatory military service, remained in fifth position this month. Recently, RM, leader of the BTS group, released the latest MV “Come Back To Me” ahead of his solo comeback.
According to the result of the analysis, the group achieved a brand value of 2,427,988 in May. Compared to the brand reputation index of 2,065,997 last April, it rose 17.52%., with the following indices:
