The Korean Business Research Institute has released the January 2024 Kpop rookie idol group brand reputation rankings featuring the most popular new Kpop boy and girl groups. Check out the top five groups and their brand reputation indices.
January 2024 Top Kpop Rookie Idol Group Brand Reputation Rankings
From December 1, 2023, to January 1, 2024, the Korean Business Research Institute analyzed 17,618,834 data points from new idol group brands, down 2.89% from 18,143,413 data points in December. The Institute analyzed the rookie idol group brand reputation by integrating boy and girl groups, measuring consumer participation, media presence, communication, and community indices to determine the brand reputation index. The analysis focused on idol groups that debut after 2022.
The brand reputation index is a metric created through extensive data analysis, which reveals that consumers’ online habits greatly influence brand consumption. It measures the evaluation of rookie idol group brands, media attention, consumer interest, and communication. It also includes qualitative assessment by brand reputation monitors.
In January 2024, the top 5 rookie idol group brand reputations were analyzed as follows: NewJeans, RIIZE, LE SSERAFIM, ZEROBASEONE, and Baby Monsters.

The Rookie girl group NewJeans, chosen as “Group of the Year” at the “2024 Billboard Women in Music Awards,” topped this month’s rookie idol group rankings. According to the analysis, achievements can be summarized as follows:
- Participation Index: 590,744
- Media Index: 745,198
- Communication Index: 1,055,292
- Community Index: 1,015,702
The group’s January brand reputation index scored 3,406,936 this month. Compared to the brand reputation index of 4,120,010 in December, it fell 17.31%.
Furthermore, the NewJeans brand had high rankings in “recording, proving, appearing” in link analysis and “album, Billboard, HYBE” in keyword analysis. It achieved a positivity ratio of 84.25%.
2. RIIZE
Boy group RIIZE, who recently released the Japanese-language version of their hit song “Love 119,” remained in second position this month. The group’s brand analysis reveals the following indices:

- Media Index: 658,834
- Communication Index: 1,010,967
- Community Index: 739,316
As a result, the group’s January brand reputation index scored 2,888,631; it fell 10.27% to 3,219,122 in December.
3. LE SSERAFIM
Girl group LE SSERAFIM, who will return with a new album in February, rose to the third position this month. LE SSERAFIM’s brand analysis reveals an impressive improvement in indices as follows:
- Participation Index: 305,564
- Media Index: 393,159
- Communication Index: 534,467
- Community Index: 398,114
LE SSERAFIM achieved a brand reputation index of 1,631,303, which fell 8.08% from 1,774,686 in December.
4. ZEROBASEONE
Boy group ZEROBASEONE, who will rock the stage with other Kpop bands on Krazy Super Concert, stayed firm in fourth place. The group’s brand analysis reveals steady progress as follows:

- Media Index:393,159
- Communication Index: 534,467
- Community Index 398,114
ZEROBASEONE’s brand reputation index reached 1,631,303 in January, down 8.08% from 1,774,686 in December.
5. Baby Monster
Girl group Baby Monster, who recently unveiled a fairytale-like mood teaser for upcoming single “Stuck In The Middle,” dropped to fifth place. Baby Monster’s brand analysis reveals the following indices:

- Media Index: 280,938
- Communication Index: 398,275
- Community Index: 206,204
The girl group’s brand reputation index for January was 1,121,107, which fell 45.36% from 2,051,726 in December.
