On August 25, BIGHIT new boy group, Trainee A, posted a shocking farewell video of its member Leo on their official YouTube channel.
In the video titled, “Hello, This is LEO [A-Road] EP.5 Epilogue”, Trainee A member Leo bowed his head in gratitude and apology while announcing that he was leaving the group.
“I kept talking with the company about which direction I should take.
And the conclusion I made was: rather than going on with Trainee A, I need some time to stop.”

What is The Reason Behind Leo Leaving the Group?
Further in the video, Trainee A Leo explained the real reason why he was leaving the group.
According to Leo, during the last 3.5 years of his trainee experience, he began harboring feelings of anxiety. Since he became a trainee when he was 17 years old, Leo felt that his journey as a trainee had been long and extensive. That is why the feeling of anxiety grew so big that he could no longer contain it.
Eventually, after talking to the company, Trainee A Leo decided that leaving the group was better for him.
“I have been a trainee for three years and a half. These past three and a half years started when I was 17, so it felt really long. I made many good memories and learned a lot.
On the other hand, during those three and a half years, my worries kept getting bigger. I tried to hide them from others, but the worries kept growing with time until I couldn’t even control them.”

Trainee A Leo Bowed His Head in Gratitude and Apology
Finally, after revealing the reason why he was leaving the group, Trainee A Leo bowed his head in gratitude and apology to fans and the fellow members.
“I have been thinking about this for a very long time, and I knew this decision would affect many people. So I had trouble expressing myself as much as I’d like.
I am very sorry to the members because we’ve been together for so long. And we were all working towards the same goal.
I am truly sorry that I’m quitting and leaving like this.
And above all, I apologize to all of you who have loved and supported the seven Trainee A members.
Thank you for cheering for me, believing in me, and showing me love.”

BIGHIT New Boy Group Trainee A Continues Promoting with 6 Members
As of today, Trainee A will continue promoting with 6 members: Yorch, Sangwon, Woochan, James, JJ, and Jihoon.
Since its first announced last year, the high anticipation for BIGHIT new boy group, Trainee A, has been overwhelming as fans are incredibly excited in waiting for the official debut of this new boy group.

Although I am crying as I write this, I respect Leo’s choice to leave Trainee A, his mental health is super important, I blame all the netizens who wrote nasty and hateful comment to him. It’s gonna be hard for awhile with him gone. But can we address the fact that 3 trainees have left Trainee A! Like what the heck! It’s not a survival show where they get eliminated!
We should still continue Trainee A until debut, to disband.
