BIGHIT Music announced on Weverse that BTS member Suga has tested positive for COVID-19 after returning from the U.S. on Thursday.
BTS Suga Tested Positive for COVID-19 with No Symptoms and Currently in Self-quarantine
Previously, BTS held a “Permission to Dance on Stage” concert in LA from Nov. 27-Dec. 2. Afterwards, the agency announced BTS extended vacation in the United States. Suga is the last member of BTS who returned to Korea on Thursday (23/12).
On December 24, BIGHIT MUSIC released an official statement regarding BTS member Suga has diagnosed with COVID-19 after returning from the United States.
The agency stated, Suga took the PCR test immediately after arriving in Seoul on Thursday (23/12) and began conducting self-quarantine. He received positive results during the quarantine on Friday (24/12).
Suga, who has completed his second vaccination dose as of August 2021, is not showing any symptoms. In addition, the agency also confirmed that he had made no contact with other BTS members.

BTS member SUGA was confirmed with COVID-19 on Friday, December 24 during his self-quarantine after taking the PCR test immediately upon his return to Korea on Thursday, December 23.
SUGA completed his second round of the COVID-19 vaccination in late August and is not presenting any symptoms as of today. He is currently administering self-care at home per the guidelines of the healthcare authorities.
SUGA, who has had a number of personal engagements in the U.S. during BTS’ official time off, had tested negative for the PCR test taken before travelling to the U.S., and began his self-quarantine after taking the PCR test upon his return to Korea. He received positive results during quarantine, and there was no contact with the other members.
The company places the artists’ health as our top priority, and we will do everything we can to aid SUGA in his speedy recovery. We will also diligently cooperate with the requests and guidelines of the healthcare authorities.BigHit Music.
