Talking about her debut, Artlover (아트러버) actually decided to start her music career in 2014. However, she finally made her debut with ‘Want U Back’ in 2018.
Q: When did you decide to be in the music industry?
A: I was singing ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ in my cozy room on Christmas Eve in 2014. And I thought that I should start music and become an artist.
Q: Which of your song is your most favorite so far?
A: It’s hard to choose because I do my best for all my songs. Perhaps, ‘Want U Back’ is special, as it’s my debut single.
No-genre-boundaries music
Artlover (아트러버) is a South Korean rapper living in London. Her experience living in a country with a different language and culture from where she is natively from influences her music. Therefore, we can say that she creates unique music that is earworming.
Q: You’re working as a Korean rapper while living in London. Can you tell us how you could possibly make that work? Because it must have been a REAL challenge.
A: I think London is a city where multiculturalism is mixed, and all possibilities are always open. And, I felt like there was no language barrier in music.
Q: You have a unique music concept; how do you describe your music?
A: Contemporary music without genre boundaries.
Q: Are there other genres you would like to explore?
A: Maybe, Dub staff (?)

As a musician, Artlover (아트러버) is always full of surprises. Besides, she is a multi-talent Korean rapper. She can get inspiration from anything, just like how she created her latest song, ‘redmOOn (레드문).’
Q: What is your most favorite instrument to play in composing your music?
A: A few years ago, before I became an artist. I saw a busking, the violinist was playing pop music, I was impressed, and I thought one day I would make a song and put a violin in it. And I added a violin to my recent new song ‘redmOOn (레드문).’
Q: Where did you get the inspiration most?
A: Every moment, everywhere, everything that can feel love.
Q: Who is your favorite artist?
A: Michael Jackson.
Q: If you’re given a chance, with whom would you like to collaborate for your music?
A: Any talented artist who wants to work with me, I would be happy.
Q: What is your future goal as an artist, and what drives you to reach that goal?
A: Making good music and I would like to be of some use in the world.
