STARSHIP New Girl Group: Former IZ*ONE Jang Wonyoung and Ahn Yujin Re-Debut

After IZ*ONE disbandment in April, several reports are coming out, including Jang Wonyoung and Ahn Yujin will re-debut with the new girl group under Starship Entertainment.

On August 22, a source from Starship Entertainment confirmed that,

“We are preparing to launch a new girl group in the second half of this year. Though we aim for the second half of the year, we cannot confirm the details. We ask for your understanding.”

The new girl group under Starship entertainment will consist of mid-late teen Starship trainees. However, the group’s name, number of members, and concept have not been revealed yet.

Former IZ*ONE Jang Wonyoung and Ahn Yujin re-debut

With the news of Starship new girl group coming out, a report also said that former IZ*ONE Jang Wonyoung and Ahn Yujin would join as members. However, whether Jan Wonyoung and Ahn Yujin will re-debut with Starship’s upcoming girl group has not been confirmed yet.

Jang Won Young (Wonyoung), born in 2004, was the final 1st on Mnet’s ‘Produce 48.’ Following IZ*ONE disbandment, Wonyoung focused on her modeling career. She appeared in several fashion films, such as Chaumet’s Joséphine Collection and Miu Miu’s Maritime. Not only that, but Wonyoung was also chosen as the new muse and global ambassador of Amorepacific Corporation natural cosmetics, ‘Innisfree’ in July 2021.

Meanwhile, Ahn Yu Jin was the final 5th on Mnet’s ‘Produce 48.’ After IZ*ONE disbandment, both Yujin, and Wonyoung returned to be Starship trainees. Yujin has been the MC of Inkigayo with NCT Sungchan and Treasure Jihoon since 2021.
