Super Junior’s Eunhyuk Tests Positive for COVID-19
On January 20, Eunhyuk’s agency, Label SJ, released an official statement that the artist had taken the RAT (Rapid Antigen Testing) for COVID-19 for precautionary reasons. However, when the result indicated that he might have the virus, he took a PCR test as well. Later that day, the agency confirmed that the artist had tested for COVID-19.
Official Statement from Label SJ
Hello, this is Label SJ.
On the morning of January 20, Super Junior’s Eunhyuk appeared to have tested positive during a precautionary rapid antigen detection test for COVID-19. He went to the hospital to take a follow-up PCR test and was informed this evening that he was confirmed to have been diagnosed positive.
In December, Eunhyuk completed the third dose of his COVID-19 vaccine, so he currently only has very minor symptoms. All of his scheduled activities have been postponed, and he is resting safely while following the disease control authorities’ directions.
We have verified that Eunhyuk had no recent close contact with any other Super Junior members. Just in case, however, all the members and their related staff members have been undergoing tests.
Focusing on our artists’ health and safety as our top priority, the agency will do our best to support Eunhyuk’s speedy recovery. Also, we will faithfully follow the directives and requests of the disease control authorities.Label SJ.
The agency explained that Eunhyuk already had a booster shot of the COVID-19 vaccine in December. And currently, he is showing mild symptoms. In addition, they also have postponed his scheduled activities.
Previously on January 17, Eunhyuk appeared on SBS’s “Running Man” as a guest. Thus, all the cast members on the show have been taking the test for the virus. Including ‘Running Man’ members, Yoo Jae Suk and HaHa, went to take the test immediately after hearing the news during a shoot for MBC’s “How Do You Play?”. Last year, other Super Junior members, Shindong and Choi Siwon, were positive with COVID–19 and have recovered from the virus.
Wishing Eunhyuk a quick and full recovery!
