On July 30, the Korean Business Research Institute unveiled the top 100 Korean star brand reputation rankings for July 2023. The list includes Korean entertainers, singers, trot singers, movie stars, drama actors, idols, and sports icons. Check out the complete list of popular Korean stars below.
July 2023 TOP 100 Korean Star Brand Reputation Rankings
The Korean Business Research Institute analyzed 255,422,444 big data points from June 30 to July 30, 2023, to determine this month’s Korean star brand rankings. Moreover, the institute used consumer behavior analysis to measure participation, media presence, communication, and community engagement indexes to get the brand reputation index for these star brands. In addition, the analysis revealed a 13.48 percent increase in big data in July compared to June.
According to the result, BTS, Lim Young Woong, NewJeans, Kim Min Jae, and Lee Kang In dominated this month’s top five most popular Korean stars.

BTS, the South Korean sensation, continues to shine brightly as its members pursue individual projects. On July 13, Jimin delighted fans with the release of the acoustic version of his latest single, “Angel Pt 2.” While on July 14, 2023, Jungkook made his solo debut with the single “Seven,” which quickly dominated the charts worldwide. Notably, the group’s brand reputation index saw an impressive 8.97% increase in July 2023, soaring from 10,973,349 in June to 11,957,664.

This renowned Korean trot singer garnered immense popularity after teaming up with Son Heung Min, the captain of the Korean national football team, in a thrilling football match. Furthermore, his generous donation of 200 million Won for recovery from torrential rain damage solidified his positive impact on society.

Securing the third place was NewJeans, a rising Kpop girl group. Their remarkable brand reputation index of 8,173,376 this month showcased an impressive 149.75% increase from June’s index of 3,272,582. NewJeans’ significant growth reflects their ever-growing influence and popularity in the music industry.
The rookie Kpop girl group recently made a triumphant comeback with their mini album “Get Up.” Since their debut, they have impressed fans with diverse music styles and trend-setting appeal. As a result, they rapidly became a global sensation within a year.
4. Kim Min Jae

- Media Index: 1,437,525
- Communication Index: 1,298,116
- Community Index: 1,483,828
- Brand Reputation Index: 6,355,368
In fourth place, South Korean football player Kim Min Jae soared to a brand reputation index of 6,355,368 this month. This value marked an astonishing 176.97% increase from his brand reputation index of 2,294,644 in June.
Recently, the 26-year-old defender transferred from Napoli to Bayern Munich. He reportedly received a record-breaking transfer fee of 50 million euros ($55 million) for an Asian player, earning him the title ‘the transfer of the century.’ Additionally, he signed a five-year deal through June 2028 and will wear the No. 3 jersey.
5. Lee Kang In

Rounding out the top five list was South Korean football player Lee Kang In. He secured fifth place with a brand reputation index of 5,877,680. Unfortunately, the 22-year-old player recently suffered an injury during PSG’s first friendly match against Le Havre.
