In the midst of their GRAMMY preparation, shocking news and update came from BTS eldest hyung and “Visual King”, BTS Jin. Following their successful and unforgettable concert, “PTD on Stage” in Seoul, BTS Jin apparently had to undergo surgery for his fingers.

On March 19, BIGHIT MUSIC announced the latest news and update through an official statement about BTS Jin. According to the announcement, BTS Jin had injured his fingers, and he had to undergo surgery to fix his damaged tendon.

What REALLY Happened to BTS Jin?

In the announcement, BIGHIT MUSIC revealed that BTS Jin had previously injured his left index fingers during daily activities. He immediately went to the nearby ER to receive treatment on March 18. However, since the injury was quite severe and resulted in his tendon being partially damaged, the doctors suggested BTS Jin for surgery.

Then on the afternoon of the same day, BTS Jin went into surgery to fix the extensor in his left index finger.

What Are Extensor Tendon Injuries?

So, what is extensor tendon injuries? Will this affect BTS Jin in his future activities and performance both in daily life and on stage?

The extensor tendon is the thin muscle located on the back of the hand. It allows you to straighten your thumb and fingers. However, since the protection level is low for these tendons, injuries can occur simply because of a simple cut or jam.

When these tendons are injured, it can cause detachment from the bone. As a result, it will be hard for you to move your fingers and thumb straight. That is why the doctors will require surgery to repair the damaged tendons and renew the functions.

Since extensor tendons are easy to reach, it is actually a simple procedure that is relatively straightforward. However, the patient will still need basic therapy to accelerate the healing process.

Additionally, BIGHIT MUSIC also assured the fans by stating that the doctors had successfully completed BTS Jin fingers surgery. Therefore, the doctors agreed to allow BTS Jin’s discharge from the hospital the next morning on March 19.

Unfortunately, since BTS Jin was still recovering from his fingers surgery, he would need to wear a cast for a while. This ensures a better and speedy recovery for his left index finger.
