We can’t underestimate the power of ARMY and BTS in terms of charity. Both the fans and idols have generous hearts. Today, on October 13, to celebrate BTS Jimin birthday, Indonesian ARMYs donate mangroves to be planted in Central Java, Indonesia as Jimin birthday project.
Plan to Feature BTS Jimin Birthday on Billboard
At first, the initiator of this activity, Asabell “Asa” Audida, planned to feature BTS Jimin on a South Korea billboard. However, this plan was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Asa then tried to find another way to celebrate his idol’s birthday.
She discovered and chose “LindungiHutan” to mark BTS Jimin birthday in Indonesia this year. As a result, 1,873 Indonesian ARMYs successfully collected 8,735 mangrove trees to be planted in Bedono Village, Demak, Central Java, Indonesia as Jimin birthday project.
This turned out to be a big project
“I never expected that the project would be this big,” Asa told The Jakarta Post on October 5.
She continued, “Sometimes the number of people who spread (news about) the project can be higher than those who actually donate. So I encouraged fans *to donate) by giving away free (fanmade) Jimin wallpapers as mementos.”

LindungiHutan is an online crowdfunding platform that focuses on forest conservation and the environment. Its commitment and the accessibility of its payment system is suitable for younger fans to contribute to the Jimin birthday project.
Not the First and Last Project
ARMYs donating mangroves for BTS Jimin birthday was not Asa’s first project. The proud ARMY since January 2018 has collaborated with “Generasi Aksi Community” in April 2020. They aimed to build public hand-washing facilities decorated with BTS quotes in several locations in Indonesia.
Asa mentioned that this would not be the last project she will manage. She plans to hold more environmentally conscious charity initiatives for other BTS members, especially Jin and V, who will celebrate their birthdays in December.
