BIGHIT Announced to Have Taken Legal Actions to Protect BTS from Malicious YouTubers and Perpetrators

When BTS V speaks, he always delivers. Just as how he previously mentioned that he would sue the YouTuber who had spread false rumors about his friends and family, his company, BIGHIT follows up and delivers real concrete actions.

On December 29, BIGHIT Music announced its follow-up determination to protect BTS, stating that the company has taken multiple legal actions against malicious YouTubers and perpetrators.

According to the company, it has been in their regular routine to proceed with legal actions against those who engage in malicious activities regarding BTS. Therefore, through the announcement, they would like to update the public.

“Hello. This is BIGHIT MUSIC.

Our company regularly initiates legal proceedings against perpetrators of malicious activities related to BTS, including defamation, personal attacks, sexual harassment, the spread of groundless information, and ill-intentioned criticism.

We would like to provide an update on these activities.”

BIGHIT Taking BOTH Civil and Criminal Legal Actions to Protect BTS

Furthermore, BIGHIT also stated that they have taken BOTH civil and criminal proceedings to protect BTS in their official announcement. The company decided to take precautions against personal attacks and defamation. And it is especially for YouTube and DC Inside accounts that have repeatedly attacked BTS.

“We have recently filed additional criminal complaints using new information provided by fans, as well as collected through our monitoring initiatives. Our company initiates strong legal action against personal attacks and the spread of groundless information related to BTS. We are taking every action possible, civil or criminal, especially against YouTube and DC Inside accounts who repeatedly engage in such activities.”

There’s NO Way to Run from BIGHIT Music Even If They Changed Their Names

Moreover, BIGHIT had also proceeded with legal complaints regarding those who had participated in malicious activities against BTS. Therefore, even when they didn’t use real names, the company collects data by constant and real-time monitoring. That is why it doesn’t matter if the offenders changed their names, BIGHIT still filed criminal complaints if they keep doing it without remorse.

“We have also brought legal complaints against anonymous perpetrators who have engaged in such activities without the use of their real names or nicknames, and filed criminal complaints against those who have been periodically changing their nicknames and their respective accounts by collecting data on the nicknames used, and the posts they uploaded through constant and real-time monitoring. We have taken additional legal action against perpetrators who have continued to engage in malicious activities without remorse even while undergoing investigation for their criminal activities.”

BIGHIT Recently Won a Lawsuit of 9 Million Won for Criminal Activities Against BTS

On top of everything, as proof that BIGHIT does NOT act leniently for this kind of irresponsible wrongdoings, the company also mentioned that they have recently won a lawsuit of 9 million won. And they plan to take the compensation in full to send a clear message.

“Additional civil suits for damages were filed against those who were convicted of criminal charges. Recently, a lawsuit for damages filed against those who were sentenced to criminal fines was ruled in favor of the company, and the ruling was finalized with a total of 9 million won ordered in damages. We will ensure that the damages are compensated in full to send a clear message that those who engage in criminal activities will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law – both criminal and civil – and that they will bear the heavy responsibility of their actions. We will continue to initiate strict measures to ensure that these malicious acts are not repeated, and our policy of no settlement and no leniency remains in effect.”
